STB Bank says customer deposits rose 5.6% to 13.2 billion dinars in the first nine months of 2026 as net banking income fell 2.8%.
STB Bank reported higher customer deposits in the first nine months of 2026. It also reported a smaller year over year decline in net banking income by end September.
STB Bank said customer deposits increased by 701 MD, or 5.6%, to 13.2 billion dinars by end September 2026. The bank said this increase was mainly driven by demand deposits, up 290 MD, or 6.6%, and savings deposits, up 221 MD, or 4.5%. It said these two categories made up 73% of the total increase in customer resources.
The bank said term deposits increased by 205 MD, or 7.6%, reaching 2.9 billion dinars by end September 2026. It also said its funding structure remained dominated by demand deposits and savings deposits, which it said helped optimise its cost of collection.
On lending, STB Bank said net loans to customers stayed at 8.6 billion dinars by end September 2026. It said credit activity remained broadly stable in the third quarter after a recovery in the first half. Year over year, it said the decline in outstanding loans was limited to 1.6%, compared with 3.2% by end June 2026.
STB Bank said its securities portfolio reached 5.3 billion dinars, up 403 MD, or 8.3%, since the start of the financial year. It said this was mainly due to an increase of 471 MD in holdings of government securities.
On profitability, the bank said net banking income, meaning net revenue after interest costs, was 508 MD by end September 2026, compared with 523 MD a year earlier. That is a 2.8% decline, which the bank said was smaller than the 10.5% decline it reported by end June 2026.
STB Bank linked its performance to changes in deposit mix and lower funding costs. It also said a lower reliance on monetary resources helped keep regulatory liquidity and transformation ratios at comfortable levels, and gave it more capacity to develop credit activity.
