STB has opened a tender to hire an AI, data engineering, and cloud architecture firm to design and industrialise an AI architecture. Bids close Oct 23, 2026.
STB has launched a tender to select a specialist firm to help design, implement, and scale an internal AI architecture. Offers are due by October 23, 2026.
STB is looking for a consulting firm with experience in artificial intelligence, data engineering, and cloud architecture. The goal is to support the bank in building an “integrated AI architecture” inside STB.
In practice, an AI architecture is the set of systems and rules that lets a company collect data, prepare it for analysis, train AI models, and run those models in production. “Industrialisation” here means moving from pilots and prototypes to reliable, repeatable systems that teams can use day to day.
The tender outlines a structured submission process. Bidders are expected to provide an administrative file, a technical offer, and a financial offer. STB also requires a provisional bid bond of 7,000 Tunisian dinars, which acts as a guarantee that bidders are serious.
STB says proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “do not open,” and delivered to its central registry office in Tunis. Offers remain valid for 120 days after the deadline.
Banks across Africa are moving beyond one-off AI use cases and toward shared platforms that can support multiple teams. A consolidated AI and data platform can reduce duplicated work, speed up model deployment, and strengthen governance.
This also signals growing demand for cloud and data engineering skills in the banking sector. Cloud architecture is the blueprint for running systems on shared computing infrastructure instead of only on a bank’s own servers. It is often used to scale workloads and control costs, but it also raises questions around security, compliance, and vendor management.
For Tunisia’s tech services market, the STB tender could create opportunities for local and regional firms that can deliver production-grade AI systems, not just experimentation.
