Rise of Fearless raised $1 million in SAFE financing from Epic Edges Capital to fund development, marketing, and growth to 100,000 players.
Rise of Fearless has raised $1 million from Epic Edges Capital to expand its African-owned battle royale mobile game.
Rise of Fearless, an African-owned battle royale mobile game, raised $1 million from Epic Edges Capital, a Dubai-based investment firm. The funding was done through a Simple Agreement for Future Equity, or SAFE, which is a deal where investors put money in now and receive shares later.
The company said the money will fund game development, infrastructure, marketing, and community-building. It also plans to bring experienced international gaming executives and developers into the project.
Rise of Fearless launched in 2025. The game is free-to-play and is based on Ethiopia’s Battle of Adwa in 1896. Players can choose avatars and weapons and compete in a peer-to-peer survival match, meaning players compete directly against other players.
The game is available on the Google Play Store and the App Store. Founder Kanessa Muluneh said it has recorded over 15,000 total downloads.
Rise of Fearless is also targeting 100,000 active players as part of its expansion plans.
The deal comes amid growing investor interest in Africa’s gaming industry, which the report links to a growing player base and demand for locally developed games.
Africa’s gaming market is projected to generate $1.98 billion in revenue in 2026, according to a report by Carry1st and research firm Newzoo. Mobile gaming is expected to account for nearly 82% of that revenue.
