Tanzanian health tech company Medikea has added three new clinic locations to its website location finder, all marked “Opening Soon” or “Coming Soon.”

The listed sites are Sikukuu Street in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam, Bunge Street in Makole, Dodoma, and Sanawari Street in the Arusha City Center.

Medikea currently operates Medikea Clinic on Mtopa Street in Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s Ministry of Health facility registry shows the clinic is registered as a PolyClinic (a facility that offers multiple outpatient services under one roof) and opened on August 19, 2023.

Medikea’s app offers 24/7 virtual care (remote consultations via phone or video), same or next-day clinic appointments, medicine delivery, and at-home lab tests. For now, at-home lab tests are limited to Dar es Salaam districts including Ilala and Kinondoni.

The company has not shared exact opening dates for the new facilities. The listings have remained “Opening Soon” in recent web updates.

For patients, more physical clinics can make a “digital-first” care model feel more reliable. It also reduces the gap between online consultations and in-person follow-ups, especially for diagnostics like lab tests.
