Jumia raised $50 million in a capital raise led by IFC. The e-commerce firm also reported Q2 2026 revenue of $52 million, up 14% year on year.
Jumia says it has raised $50 million in a capital raise anchored by the International Finance Corporation, which invested $25 million. The deal was priced on August 11, 2026.
The company said other participants include Axian, one of its largest shareholders, plus additional investors. Under the transaction, investors agreed to purchase 9.1 million American Depositary Shares, or ADSs. ADSs are a way for non-US companies to have shares that trade in the US market.
Jumia priced the ADSs at $5.52 each. That brings expected gross proceeds to $50 million. The company said the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and should close in the second half of August 2026.
Jumia also published its Q2 2026 financials. Revenue came in at $52 million, a 14% year-on-year increase, or 15% on a constant currency basis. Constant currency means it removes the effect of exchange rate swings so performance is easier to compare.
Jumia said growth was supported by higher transaction volumes. It also noted that a higher mix of third-party sales affected how much revenue it recognized. In third-party sales, Jumia earns commission rather than booking the full value of goods sold as revenue.
Jumia says it will use the net proceeds to fund its next growth phase, improve efficiency in its core African markets, and strengthen its marketplace and logistics network.
CEO Francis Dufay said the company is targeting adjusted EBITDA breakeven and positive cash flow in Q4 2026. Adjusted EBITDA is a profitability metric that excludes some costs, it is often used to track operating performance.
The update also highlights where Jumia is leaning for growth. Marketplace revenue rose 34% year on year to $28.8 million, helped by third-party sales and a sharp jump in marketing and advertising revenue. Jumia linked the ad growth to more sponsored products and rising adoption of retail media by sellers, which is paid visibility inside the platform.
