Jetstream Africa has launched Jetvision, a platform that uses AI to monitor CCTV feeds and turn what cameras see into real-time reports and automated notifications.
Jetvision is designed for teams that manage physical sites like warehouses, yards, and facilities. Instead of staff watching video all day, the system detects predefined events and sends descriptive alerts quickly. Jetstream Africa says notifications can be delivered in under 60 seconds.
The platform also generates hourly and daily event summaries. These are meant to support management reporting without manual data entry. In practice, it is a way to convert video footage into structured operational updates.
Jetvision’s use cases include collateral management, which is monitoring the movement and physical location of financed goods. It also supports HSE compliance, which stands for health, safety, and environment rules like PPE usage and hazard detection. Other focus areas include security monitoring for unauthorized access and behavior patterns, plus operations and maintenance verification for scheduled tasks like cleaning or routine checks.
Many African businesses already have CCTV systems, but the footage often becomes useful only after an incident. Jetvision is betting that teams will pay for software that makes cameras actionable during daily operations, with alerts, summaries, and fewer blind spots.
For lenders and asset-backed financing providers, better collateral monitoring can reduce losses and disputes by improving evidence trails around goods release and delivery. For operators, automated reporting can reduce time spent compiling updates and can cut unnecessary travel by letting managers verify on-the-ground activity remotely.
The launch also signals growing interest in “computer vision” tools, which is AI that interprets images and video, for practical operational risk and compliance needs across Africa.
