Inspired Entertainment Launches iGaming Portfolio in South Africa

Inspired Entertainment has launched its iGaming portfolio in South Africa with six operators, including Betway, distributed via Light and Wonder.

In Short

Inspired Entertainment has launched its iGaming portfolio in South Africa through six local betting operators, including Betway. The company says the rollout gives it access to about 90% of the country’s online gaming market via Light and Wonder’s content marketplace.

What Happened: Inspired Entertainment’s South Africa iGaming Launch

Inspired Entertainment is expanding into South Africa with a bundle of online casino games supplied to local operators.

iGaming is online gambling, which usually includes slots-style games and digital table games played in an app or browser.

Inspired said it has gone live with six customers in the country. It named Betway and Hollywoodbets as launch partners.

The company’s distribution is enabled through an existing agreement with Light and Wonder. In practice, that means Inspired’s games are being delivered through the Light and Wonder iGaming content marketplace, which works like an app store for casino content that operators can plug into.

Inspired’s CEO Brooks Pierce said the launch provides access to roughly 90% of the South African market. He also said the portfolio includes localized features tailored for South African players.

Inspired also positioned the move as part of its expansion across regulated markets. Regulated markets are countries where gambling operators must be licensed and follow rules on player protection, reporting, and payments.

Why It Matters

South Africa is one of Africa’s largest regulated online betting markets. A content supplier that can reach multiple top operators quickly can scale faster than negotiating one-by-one integrations.

For operators, adding a new third-party content library is a way to refresh their casino offering without building games in-house. For players, it usually shows up as more titles and new formats inside an existing betting app.

Inspired said industry estimates predict the South African online gaming market could double by 2030. If that growth plays out, early distribution deals and localized content could help decide which game suppliers become default choices for major platforms.
