Garment IO Release 26-04 Adds Mobile QR Maintenance Tools

Garment IO Release 26-04 adds mobile QR scan maintenance closures, faster RFID tag assignment, P2P floor cards, and richer packing PO reports.

In Short

  • Garment IO shipped Release 26-04 for its manufacturing productivity SaaS platform.
  • The update focuses on more reliable production data, better mobile workflows, and clearer shop floor visibility.
  • Key changes include closing maintenance tickets via mobile QR scan, faster RFID tag assignment, P2P target-based floor cards, and added packing details in PO reports.

What Happened

Garment IO has released Release 26-04 with workflow updates across maintenance, production, packing, quality, and user management. The company says the goal is to reduce day-to-day friction and keep factory data accurate, even when devices on the floor go offline.

On maintenance, supervisors can now close maintenance requests from a phone by scanning a machine QR code in the Garment mobile web app. If the machine is marked as stopped and the user has the right permissions, a “Fix Machine” action appears. The flow records response time, moves the ticket to “Under Inspection”, then lets the supervisor select an outcome like repair, replace, or false alarm. Saving the action closes the request and logs a resolution timestamp.

Garment IO also sped up RFID tag assignment at the “Assigning Tags Station”. RFID tags are the small chips used to identify and track bundles as they move through production. The station now shows batch group details, supports setting tags per batch, prioritises batches missing tags, and lets teams edit already-assigned tags. A new “Assign Sequentially” mode starts from the first unassigned batch and enables continuous scanning.

For visibility, live floor cards can now be colour-coded using Plan-to-Performance, or P2P, instead of efficiency. P2P compares output against the target for the time elapsed, so teams can see if a line or worker is ahead, on target, or behind. Factories can configure thresholds and choose P2P or efficiency per display.

Finally, if the Packing Module is enabled, the Production Order report now includes packing details like assortments, box breakdowns, daily packed pieces, and packed-versus-other-stage comparisons by colour and size.

Why It Matters

Factories often run on mixed connectivity, shared devices, and fast handoffs between teams. Offline-tolerant mobile actions, faster RFID workflows, and clearer target tracking can reduce missed timestamps, incomplete tagging, and reporting gaps that slow decisions on the floor.
