Fuzu and WE4D have launched an AI green jobs matching platform in Kenya to connect employers with women and youth talent across key climate sectors.
Fuzu says it has launched an AI-powered digital matching platform for Kenyaβs green economy, built with the WE4D programme, which is implemented by GIZ in Kenya. The goal is to help employers hire faster and help women and youth find roles in fast-growing climate and sustainability industries.
The platform uses AI matching, meaning software that recommends candidates based on data like skills and experience, similar to how streaming apps suggest movies. Fuzu says employers get access to a pre-vetted talent pool and employer tools designed to support inclusive and merit-based recruitment.
The initiative is focused on industries such as agriculture and agro-processing, renewable energies, circular economy (reusing and recycling materials to reduce waste), waste management, blue economy and aquaculture, eco-tourism, sustainable construction, and green transport and logistics.
Fuzu also says it is working with private sector partners including Sentimental Energy Ltd, Sanivation, Tech For Nonprofits, the Kenya Green Building Society, the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya, and the Association For Women in Energy and Extractives in Kenya.
Kenya adds about one million new entrants to the labour market each year, and youth unemployment and underemployment remain high. For women, barriers like limited professional networks, lower access to specialised training, and hiring bias can make entry into emerging sectors harder.
For green and greening companies, the challenge is often the opposite, finding job-ready talent with the right mix of experience and sector-specific skills. If the matching works as promised, it could reduce time-to-hire and help climate-focused employers build more diverse teams.
The launch also signals a broader shift in HR tech and recruitment across Africa, where AI-based screening and matching tools are increasingly used to organise talent pipelines for priority sectors like energy transition and sustainable agriculture.
