MultiChoice Ghana is replacing six DStv tiers with four new packages and lower prices, plus cheaper decoders and dishes from November 5.
MultiChoice Ghana says it is changing DStv pricing and packaging in Ghana.
It is replacing six DStv packages with four simpler options and lowering monthly subscription fees.
It is also cutting the price of DStv equipment, including decoders and satellite dishes.
MultiChoice Ghana has introduced four simplified DStv packages and reduced subscription prices, saying the goal is to make its content more accessible and affordable to Ghanaian households.
The four new packages are Starter, Select, Sports and Ultimate. They take effect on November 5, 2026, replacing the previous six packages, Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus, Premium and Party.
Country CEO and Managing Director Alex Okyere said the changes follow years of customer feedback about subscription costs. He said MultiChoice Ghana is introducing more affordable packages while increasing the content available to subscribers.
Under the new pricing, the Starter package will cost GH¢50, replacing Access at GH¢98. Select will cost GH¢100, replacing Family at GH¢188. The Sports package will cost GH¢250 and combine football content previously available on Compact and Compact Plus. The Ultimate package will cost GH¢570, replacing Premium at GH¢854.
Okyere said the Sports package includes all football content available on DStv, including the UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, La Liga and Serie A. He also said Starter will add a new Kick Off channel that will broadcast selected football matches.
MultiChoice Ghana is also changing movie channels. M-Net Movies One and Two will merge into M-Net Movies Plus. M-Net Movies Three and Four will become M-Net Movies Stars and M-Net Movies Legends.
Okyere said this is meant to improve access to international movies and reduce complaints about repeated content, particularly on lower tier packages. He said the new pricing is permanent and not a temporary promotional offer.
MultiChoice Ghana is also reducing the cost of DStv equipment to attract more households.
Head of Sales and Distribution Michael Lartey said a decoder and satellite dish combination will cost GH¢99. Customers who already own a dish can buy a decoder alone for GH¢49.
Lartey said Ghana has more than eight million electrified homes, with relatively few subscribing to DStv. He said the price cut is part of efforts to reach more households.
