Cynoia Launches Hannibal AI Teammate and Adds Wave Payments

Cynoia has launched Hannibal, an AI teammate for African teams, and added Wave Mobile Money payments to its workspace for easier billing.

In Short

  • Cynoia launched Hannibal, an integrated AI teammate inside its workspace.
  • Hannibal helps with writing, translation in 20+ languages, and summarisation.
  • Cynoia also added payments via Wave Mobile Money.

What Happened

Cynoia has launched Hannibal, a built-in AI teammate for African businesses. Cynoia is positioning Hannibal as part of its all-in-one workspace, which also includes chat, projects, video calls, files, notes, and calendar features.

Hannibal focuses on three core tasks. It generates text, translates content in more than 20 languages, and summarises long messages or documents. Text generation means the tool drafts content for you, like emails, reports, or meeting notes. Summarisation means it shortens long text into key points, like a quick brief.

The AI translation angle is aimed at teams operating across multiple markets. Cynoia says its AI can write and translate across African and global languages, supporting day-to-day collaboration from Francophone to Anglophone contexts.

Alongside the AI launch, Cynoia has added payment support through Wave Mobile Money. Mobile money is a phone-based wallet used to pay for services without a bank card. For Cynoia, Wave support can simplify subscriptions and renewals for customers in markets where mobile money is the default payment method.

Why It Matters

African teams often rely on several tools for messaging, documents, meetings, and project tracking. Consolidating those workflows into one workspace can reduce context switching, which is the constant jumping between apps that slows teams down.

Hannibal also reflects a practical shift in how SaaS products are shipping AI features. Instead of a separate chatbot, Cynoia is packaging AI into everyday actions, writing, translating, and summarising, inside the same place teams already work.

Wave payments matter for conversion and retention. If customers can pay with mobile money, fewer teams get blocked at checkout by card limits or banking access, especially in West Africa where Wave is strong.
