Individuals find the right products. Businesses reach the right audience. One platform, free for both.
CredPal has launched Atom, an investment platform for Nigerian and US stocks, digital assets and asset backed loans, alongside its BNPL business.
CredPal, a Nigerian buy now, pay later startup, says Atom will operate alongside its existing lending business.
Atom is positioned as an investment platform, meaning users can buy, hold and trade financial products instead of using credit to split payments.
CredPal says its existing lending business has disbursed more than $100 million in credit. The company declined to disclose how many customers have accessed credit through the platform.
CredPal was founded in 2018. It allows customers to spread payments for purchases across four instalments.
The company joined Y Combinator in 2019. It last raised $15 million in debt and equity financing in 2022.
Atom signals CredPal’s move beyond BNPL, which is short term credit used to pay for purchases in instalments.
By adding investments, including Nigerian and US stocks and digital assets, CredPal is expanding what its customers can do in the same ecosystem as its lending products.
The company is also adding asset backed loans, which are loans secured with collateral, meaning an asset is used as a guarantee for repayment.
