Craydel Expands to Ghana, Its Eighth African Market

Craydel has launched in Ghana, adding its eighth African market as it grows its AI-powered platform for students applying to universities abroad.

In Short

Craydel has expanded into Ghana. It is now active in eight African markets. The company helps students find and apply to universities abroad.

What Happened

Kenyan edtech startup Craydel has launched operations in Ghana, its eighth African market. The move adds Ghana to its footprint across Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Burundi, and Tanzania.

Craydel targets students applying for higher education outside Africa. The company says the expansion gives it access to one of West Africa’s largest outbound student markets. That matters because hundreds of thousands of African students leave the continent each year for university and other tertiary education.

Founded in 2021, Craydel offers a platform that lets students search, compare, and apply to overseas universities. It uses an AI-powered matchmaking tool, meaning software that suggests schools based on a student’s profile, like a recommendation engine for university choices. Craydel says it works with more than 600 institutions across more than 50 study destinations worldwide.

The Ghana rollout will include local student advisory services, plus partnerships with schools and universities. The company’s CEO, Manish Sardana, said it is seeing demand from Ghanaian students looking for trusted and technology-driven guidance as they explore study options abroad.

On Liners, you can find more products in the African education sector under the EdTech category, including platforms like Craydel.

Why It Matters

Cross-border expansion is still hard for many African startups, especially in education, where sales cycles can be slow and partnerships take time. Craydel’s Ghana entry is its fifth new market launch since late 2024, showing it is prioritising regional scale early.

For students and parents, more local advisory services can reduce the guesswork in choosing programmes, meeting entry requirements, and navigating visa or application steps. For universities abroad, it adds another channel to reach qualified applicants in Ghana through a single platform.
