How we verify product data

Overview

Every product on Liners gets a basic listing: name, description, website, categories, tags, country context, and platform information. For many products, Liners also adds deeper company data when reliable public information is available.

This page explains what data we collect, how we find it, and how often it's updated.

What Data We Collect

We compile four categories of company data for product listings:

• People: Founders, C-Suite executives, VPs, and other key team members. Includes names, titles, seniority level, location, and links to professional profiles.
• Funding: Investment rounds, amounts raised, round types (Seed, Series A, etc.), dates, and the investors involved. Acquisitions and debt financing are tracked separately.
• News: Press coverage, announcements, and articles mentioning the company. Includes publication dates and source links.
• Jobs: Open positions the company is actively hiring for, including job titles, locations, and posting dates.

Not every product has data in all four categories. If we cannot find reliable data for a category, it does not appear on the listing.

How We Find It

DD Dave helps research products using publicly available sources such as company websites, press releases, job boards, app stores, professional profiles, and investment databases.

Where possible, data is cross-checked across multiple sources before it is shown. The data is then structured, deduplicated, and attached to the product listing.

We do not fabricate missing data. A blank section usually means we have not found enough reliable information to show it.

How Often Data Is Updated

Data freshness depends on the category:

When data is refreshed, we check for new entries and update existing ones. Stale records, such as closed job postings, may be removed or hidden.

What We Don't Show

Some data is gated behind sign-in:

• People: Only a preview is visible to anonymous visitors. Full team data (titles, social links, locations) requires signing in.
• News and Jobs: The first few entries are visible to everyone. The full list requires an account.
• Funding: Fully visible to everyone. We believe funding transparency is important.

We gate certain data to protect against automated scraping and to respect the sensitivity of team information.

Accuracy and Corrections

All data comes from publicly available sources and may be compiled with automation. The data can still be incomplete or out of date because companies raise rounds, people change roles, job posts close, and news moves quickly.

If you spot something that's wrong, you can report it using the "suggest edit" feature on any product page. Our team reviews suggestions and corrects inaccuracies promptly. Product owners who have claimed their listing can also flag data issues directly.
