How Reviews Work

Overview

Users can leave reviews on any product listed on Liners. Every review goes through an automated moderation process powered by Agent Ammie. Ammie's job is to keep our rating system trustworthy — she evaluates every review for authenticity, quality, and compliance before it appears on the platform.

Submitting a Review

To leave a review, you need to:

1. Be logged in to your account.
2. Visit a product page and click the review button.
3. Choose a star rating (1-5).
4. Write your review text with specific feedback about the product.
5. Optionally upload proof images (screenshots of the product in use).

After you submit, you'll see a confirmation that your review is under review. Most reviews are evaluated within seconds.

Automated Moderation

Every review is automatically evaluated by Agent Ammie using AI-powered analysis. Ammie looks at both the content of your review and contextual signals to determine whether it meets our standards.

Reviews that pass are published automatically. Reviews that need a closer look are passed on to Standup Stevo for further review.

What Ammie Checks

Ammie evaluates reviews for authenticity, quality, and compliance. This includes assessing whether the review is genuine, whether it provides useful and specific feedback about the product, and whether it follows our platform guidelines.

We don't publicly disclose the specific checks, thresholds, or signals Ammie uses — this helps us keep the moderation system effective against manipulation.

Image Analysis

If you upload proof images (screenshots, photos of the product in use), Ammie will also evaluate whether the images are relevant and authentic. Attaching proof images can help your review get approved faster and may result in a "verified" badge on your review.

Review Status

Reviews can be in one of these statuses:

Review Summaries

Once a product accumulates enough reviews, we automatically generate an AI summary. This happens at specific thresholds:

• 20 reviews.
• 40 reviews.
• 60 reviews.
• 80 reviews.
• 100 reviews.
• 200 reviews.
• 300 reviews.

We use our review_summary system prompt to analyze all approved reviews and produce a concise summary of what users like, what they don't, and the overall sentiment.

These summaries appear on the product page and help visitors quickly understand what the community thinks without reading every individual review.

Editing Reviews

You can edit a review you've already submitted, as long as it has been approved. To edit:

1. Visit the product page where you left your review.
2. Scroll to the review form — you'll see your existing review with an "Edit review" button.
3. Make your changes and submit.

Edited reviews are sent back through moderation (status resets to Pending). This means your updated review will temporarily disappear from the product page until it passes moderation again. This ensures all published reviews meet our quality standards.

Review Reports and Clarification

Product owners can report reviews they believe are unfair, fake, or violate our guidelines.

Clarification Flow

When Agent Ammie requests clarification:

1. The reviewer receives an email from reviews@liners.com asking them to provide more details.
2. The reviewer can respond in two ways:
   • Click the link in the email and submit their response on our platform.
   • Reply directly to the email.
3. The reviewer has 14 days to respond.
4. If they respond, Agent Ammie reviews the clarification and makes a final decision (ignore or delete).
5. If they don't respond within 14 days, the report is reviewed based on the available information.

This process ensures fairness for both product owners and reviewers. Product owners can flag concerning reviews, and reviewers have an opportunity to provide context before any action is taken.

Star Ratings

The overall star rating displayed on a product page is the average of all approved reviews. Only reviews that passed moderation are included in the calculation.

Reviews that need a second look are held for more thorough review. Once enough reviews accumulate, we generate an AI summary to help visitors quickly understand the community's sentiments.

Users can edit their approved reviews at any time — edited reviews go back through moderation. Product owners can report reviews, and Agent Ammie can request clarification from reviewers before making a final decision.
