Waffarha says YTD 2026 GMV rose 151% and transacted users grew 156% in Egypt, as more customers used deals, bill pay, and bookings.
Egypt-based Waffarha says it saw strong year-to-date 2026 growth, compared with the same period in 2025, driven by more active users and higher usage across its app.
The company reported an EGP 1.66 billion increase in Gross Merchandise Value, or GMV (the total value of purchases and payments processed on a platform). It said this equals 151% year-on-year growth.
Waffarha also reported that the number of transacted users rose by about 1.1 million, up 156% year on year. “Transacted users” typically means users who completed at least one purchase or payment, not just downloads or sign-ups.
Transaction volume increased too. The company said total transactions on the platform rose by nearly 5 million, up 127% year on year.
Founded in 2012, Waffarha positions itself as a digital lifestyle and payments app. It bundles discounted deals with services like bill payments, bus trip bookings, and other everyday purchases in one place.
The company also said it has recently expanded into Saudi Arabia as part of its regional growth strategy.
In Egypt’s crowded fintech and consumer apps market, growth in GMV and transacting users is a useful signal because it suggests repeat activity, not just marketing-led installs. Rising transaction counts can also point to broader product usage, like moving from deals into bill pay and transport bookings.
Waffarha’s move into Saudi Arabia matters for another reason. Cross-border expansion in MENA often forces consumer platforms to rebuild partnerships and compliance processes, which can test whether the business model travels beyond its home market.
If Waffarha can sustain growth while adding new countries, it could strengthen its position with merchants and service providers, and improve unit economics through higher repeat purchase frequency.
