VoiceMap published new self-guided London audio tours with Stephen Fry and QI, and launched a History Hit partnership led by Dan Snow tours.
VoiceMap said it has released new self-guided audio tours in London and signed a content partnership with History Hit.
Self-guided audio tours are location-based guides that play as you walk, using GPS, which is the phone feature that knows where you are (like a map that updates in real time). VoiceMap’s model lets publishers and creators turn scripted audio into a guided route.
The first drop includes two London tours featuring Sir Stephen Fry and the team behind QI, the UK comedy and trivia panel show. VoiceMap also published the first tours from its new History Hit partnership. These are hosted by History Hit founder Dan Snow, one focused on the Great Fire of London, and another on the execution of King Charles I.
Alongside the content push, VoiceMap unveiled a new logo and visual identity. Founder and CEO Iain Manley said the update reflects how the company wants people to think about VoiceMap as more than an app icon, and more as a “route” into a story.
For travel and tourism creators, premium publishers can drive discovery. Big names like Stephen Fry and established media brands like History Hit can bring new listeners into the same marketplace as smaller tour creators.
For the wider travel tech category, this is another signal that audio is becoming a stronger format for on-the-ground experiences. It also shows how GPS-triggered content can compete with traditional guided tours, especially for travellers who want offline-friendly, on-demand options.
VoiceMap said it now works with roughly 800 publishers and offers more than 2,000 tours, with new tours added regularly. That scale matters because more supply can improve choice for travellers, and more demand can improve earnings for creators.
