Travelbeta Partners with MedPlus to Add Travel Health Kits

Travelbeta has partnered with MedPlus Limited to bundle travel health kits and wellness products with trips, aiming to improve travel preparedness in Nigeria.

In Short

  • Travelbeta and MedPlus Limited are partnering to include wellness support as part of travel planning in Nigeria.
  • The focus is on travel health kits and essential wellbeing items for travellers.
  • Travelbeta says customers can receive a health kit when booking a trip.

What Happened

Nigerian travel booking platform Travelbeta is partnering with MedPlus Limited, a pharmacy retail chain, to make personal wellbeing part of the trip planning process.

The partnership is positioned around travel health kits and “essential wellness products”, meaning items like basic medication, first aid supplies, and comfort aids travellers often forget until they are already on the road.

Travelbeta says the goal is to help travellers feel more prepared before departure, not just to get flights and hotels sorted quickly. The company also highlighted the long-term intent, which is to encourage repeatable habits around health and readiness.

Travelbeta also used the announcement to push its mobile app, which it says supports flight bookings, hotel deals, holiday packages, and a “TIP” option. TIP is a pay-in-installments feature, in plain terms it lets customers pay small amounts over time instead of all at once.

In the post, Travelbeta added that customers who book a trip can get one health kit “on your way”, suggesting a direct perk tied to purchases.

Why It Matters

For Nigeria’s online travel agencies, the customer experience often ends at booking confirmation. Adding wellbeing products creates a wider travel support bundle, closer to what travellers already do manually, which is preparing meds and basic care items ahead of time.

It also reflects a broader push in consumer apps to combine services across categories, in this case travel booking and pharmacy retail. If it works, it could increase customer retention for Travelbeta and create a new distribution channel for MedPlus through digital travel flows.

For travellers, the practical upside is fewer last-minute purchases and better trip readiness, especially for families, frequent fliers, and people traveling to new climates or longer stays.
