SimpleOne ITAM will be featured at ITAMday 2026 in Moscow, where Novotrans will share how it moved asset tracking from spreadsheets to 3,000 tracked assets.
Novotrans will present its SimpleOne ITAM implementation at ITAMday 2026 in Moscow on October 15.
SimpleOne said Novotrans, a private transport holding company, will share a practical case study on rolling out SimpleOne ITAM at the ITAMday 2026 conference.
ITAM stands for IT asset management, it is the process and tooling used to track company hardware and other IT items, such as laptops, network devices, and servers. The talk is titled “How to build ITAM in a large company: Novotrans’ practical experience.” It is scheduled for 17:00 to 17:25 in the “Classic ITAM” track.
According to the announcement, Novotrans previously stored part of its equipment data in spreadsheets. Regional units also used different tracking rules. After the rollout, the company now tracks around 3,000 assets inside the SimpleOne ITAM system, with about 35 support and IT specialists using it across the central office and regions.
The speaker, Dmitry Barykin, head of IT infrastructure management at Novotrans, plans to cover the methodology behind the rollout. That includes which accounting rules were fixed before configuring the platform, and how different departments aligned on processes.
The session will also cover how IT and accounting coordinate equipment-related actions, including rentals, internal transfers, write-offs, and inventory checks. Another focus area is prioritisation, meaning how the team decided which processes to automate first.
As companies scale across multiple locations, spreadsheet-based asset tracking often leads to inconsistent data and unclear ownership. A shared ITAM system can standardise asset records, improve audit readiness, and reduce time spent reconciling information across teams.
For IT leaders in complex organisations, the case study offers a concrete look at phased rollout planning. It also highlights a common tradeoff in enterprise software, whether to use standard features or customise workflows to match internal processes.
Novotrans said it plans to expand the ITAM scope after launch to include software licences, information systems, mobile communications, and more equipment types.
