Replit has acquired Egyptian-founded Atta. The deal adds dataset uploads, live data connections, and natural-language analytics inside Replit chat.
Replit has acquired Atta, an Egyptian-founded business analysis and charting startup. The terms were not disclosed.
Replit, a US-based AI coding company, said it has acquired Atta. Atta builds tools for business analysis and data visualisation, which means turning raw numbers into charts and dashboards that are easier to understand.
Replit has already shipped a new feature using Atta’s engine. Users can now upload datasets or connect live data sources inside a Replit chat thread. They can then ask questions in natural language, which means typing questions the way you would ask a person, not writing code or complex queries.
Atta’s co-founders, Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa, are joining Replit. Replit’s CEO Amjad Masad and president Michele Catasta had previously made angel investments in Atta, according to the report.
The acquisition follows Replit’s recent $400 million raise, which reportedly valued the company at $9 billion. It also comes weeks after Replit opened an international hub in London to run its EMEA operations.
Replit is moving beyond code generation into analysis and decision support. For startups and operators, the promise is a tighter workflow where building software and understanding business data happens in one place.
This reflects a wider trend in AI products. Many tools started as assistants for writing code or answering questions, but are now adding actions like analytics, visualisation, and automation. If this works well, it can reduce the need to switch between separate analytics tools and developer tools.
For the African ecosystem, Atta is another example of an Egypt-founded team exiting into a global developer platform. It also signals continued interest in African technical talent, even when deal terms stay private.
