PaidHR and LSETF launched a CSR initiative offering Nigerian SMEs free access to HR and payroll software, training, and support to improve operations.
PaidHR is partnering with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to give Nigerian businesses free access to its HR and payroll software, plus training and support.
PaidHR and LSETF announced a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at small and growing businesses in Nigeria.
The programme will offer eligible businesses free access to PaidHR and its full software suite. It also includes structured business training and dedicated support.
HR and payroll software helps companies manage staff records, attendance, leave, and salary payments in one system. Payroll is the process of calculating wages and paying employees, which many SMEs still do manually with spreadsheets or paper.
PaidHR said the goal is to help businesses manage teams better, reduce payroll admin work, and build healthier workplace culture. The company also framed the initiative as employee-impacting, since workers’ day-to-day experience depends on whether their employer has the right people management tools.
PaidHR co-founder and CEO Seye Bandele said many small businesses are held back by limited time, tools, and internal capacity for people operations. He said the initiative is meant to provide an “operational foundation” that helps SMEs run better and grow.
SMEs are a major part of Nigeria’s economy, contributing about 48% of GDP and representing the largest share of employment.
Yet many SMEs fail due to avoidable operational and administrative breakdowns, not just weak demand or lack of ambition. People management issues, late salaries, and messy records can lead to staff churn and lower productivity.
If this initiative reaches enough Lagos-based businesses through LSETF’s networks, it could push more SMEs toward formal HR processes. It also signals a larger trend in Nigeria’s HR tech market, where software vendors are using training and hands-on support, not just subscriptions, to drive adoption.
