MTN Nigeria says its board approved unaudited interim financial statements for the nine months ended 30 September 2026 and kept a closed period in effect.
MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has approved its unaudited interim financial statements for the nine months ended 30 September 2026.
The company also said its closed period will stay in effect until 24 hours after the financial statements are released to the public.
MTN Nigeria Communications Plc told Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and investors that its board of directors considered and approved the condensed consolidated interim financial statements for the nine months ended 30 September 2026.
The company referenced an earlier announcement dated 16 September 2026 that notified NGX and the investing public about a meeting of the board.
MTN Nigeria said the board meeting where the statements were approved was held on 29 October 2026.
MTN Nigeria said that, in line with NGX post-listing requirements, the closed period will remain in effect until 24 hours after the financial statements have been released to the public.
It added that insiders of the company and their connected persons should not directly or indirectly deal in the company’s securities in any manner during the closed period.
A closed period is a window when company insiders are restricted from trading in the company’s securities, to reduce the risk of trading on non-public information.
For public market investors, MTN Nigeria’s update confirms that the interim financial statements for the nine-month period have been approved and sets expectations for when insider trading restrictions will be lifted, which is tied to the public release of the statements.
MTN Nigeria described itself as one of Africa’s largest providers of communications services and said it connects over 94 million people in communities across Nigeria.
