Mkobo Microfinance Bank has opened applications for its Campus Ambassador Program, offering stipends, mentorship, and financial literacy roles at UNILAG and YabaTech.
Mkobo Microfinance Bank has opened applications for the Mkobo Campus Ambassador Program, a student ambassador initiative focused on financial literacy, career development, and campus visibility. In simple terms, it is a structured program where selected students represent the bank on campus and help other students learn basic money skills.
The first phase is open to students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech), and Federal College of Education Technical, Akoka. Mkobo says it is looking for outgoing students who are active in their campus communities and willing to represent the brand professionally.
Ambassadors will be expected to drive financial awareness among their peers and introduce them to “smarter ways of managing money.” Financial literacy here means practical education on budgeting, saving, and understanding financial products like bank accounts and loans.
Mkobo listed several incentives for selected students. These include a monthly stipend, referral bonus, mentorship, training and development, branded merchandise, event access, internship opportunities, a certificate of participation, and a letter of recommendation.
Campus ambassador programs are becoming a common growth channel for fintechs and banks targeting young customers. They help brands build trust through peer-to-peer education, and they can reduce customer acquisition costs by turning students into local community leads.
For students, MCAP is positioned as an early career pathway. It offers work experience, mentorship, and network access, which can matter in a competitive entry-level job market.
For Mkobo, the bet is long-term. Students who learn how to use formal financial services early often keep those habits after graduation, which can translate into more deposits, account activity, and future borrowing.
On Liners, Mkobo is listed as Mkobo.
