Nairobi maternity care provider Malaica says it is moving locations and opening a new boutique maternity hospital.

Its current site at Daykio Plaza on Ngong Road will remain open through July 31, 2026. The new facility at 240 General Mathenge Gardens opens on August 1, 2026, about five minutes from Sarit Centre.

Malaica says the switch is a “hard switch”, meaning there is no overlap day where both locations operate. It also says there is no gap in care, and that the same doctors and care team will continue at the new hospital.

For patients, the company says medical records will transfer securely, and existing appointments remain valid. It also says current payment plans and insurance approvals will be handled by its team through the move.

The provider says it accepts major insurance plans, but recommends patients confirm cover for antenatal, postnatal, or delivery care. Patients can also book a visit to the new facility ahead of an appointment via its customer care line.

This move signals Malaica’s shift from a clinic style setup to a full in-house maternity hospital model. In practical terms, “in-house delivery” means births can happen at the same facility where consultations and follow-up care take place, instead of referring patients elsewhere.
