Investec has set up a £112.5 million lending facility for Goldenpeak Fund I, giving the new private equity manager more flexibility after final close.
Investec said its UK Fund Solutions team arranged a £112.5 million lending facility for Goldenpeak Fund I on 1 September 2026. Goldenpeak Fund I is the private equity firm’s inaugural fund.
A lending facility for a fund is a credit line, similar to an overdraft for a business. It lets a fund manager access money quickly for investments or costs, before calling cash from investors.
Investec said the facility was provided shortly after Goldenpeak’s final close. Goldenpeak raised £375 million, exceeding both its target and hard cap, and did so in 12 weeks despite a tougher fundraising market.
Investec added that the facility has already supported Goldenpeak’s first two investments, Ampere Analysis and ORS.
Goldenpeak is led by Mark Williams and Leon Gillespie. The firm is targeting growth investments of £25 million to £75 million in UK and Ireland B2B services companies. These are business-to-business service firms, such as software services, consulting, and outsourced operations.
Private equity deals often move fast, and sellers usually want certainty on funding. A fund-level credit facility can help a new manager compete for acquisitions by moving quickly without waiting for investor capital calls.
For limited partners, this structure can also reduce friction, since the fund does not need to request cash every time it needs to pay early expenses or close a deal. But it can add leverage, which increases financial risk if investments underperform.
The announcement is another sign that private credit and fund finance are staying active, even while parts of the broader fundraising market remain cautious.
