FCMB has raised its FastCash instant loan limit to ₦500,000. Eligible customers can borrow via the mobile app or USSD, with up to 90 days to repay.
FCMB has increased the FastCash instant loan limit to ₦500,000. The bank says the change is aimed at helping eligible customers access short-term digital credit faster.
FCMB said it has raised the maximum amount customers can access through its FastCash instant loan to ₦500,000.
FastCash is an instant loan, which means customers can request credit and receive a decision quickly, without visiting a branch. It is available 24/7 through the FCMB Mobile App and via USSD, a short code service that works on any phone without internet access, by dialling 32911#.
The bank said FastCash does not require collateral, which is an asset a borrower pledges as security. It also does not require paperwork or a guarantor, according to the report.
Eligibility is based on a customer’s transaction activity. Customers must have maintained an FCMB account for at least three months to be considered. Returning eligible customers can access repayment periods of up to 90 days.
Customers who have not used up their full eligible loan amount can also request a top-up, subject to eligibility checks.
For many Nigerians, short-term loans cover urgent expenses, working capital gaps, and bill payments. Increasing limits can make bank-issued digital credit more competitive against standalone digital lenders.
The details also show where mainstream banks are focusing, faster lending decisions through existing channels customers already use. In practice, that usually means mobile apps for smartphone users and USSD for customers with limited data access.
The biggest trade-off is that “no paperwork” does not mean “no checks.” Access still depends on account history and transaction patterns, which can exclude new-to-bank users or people with irregular income flows.
