What Happened

eSchool.ng published a short demo announcing its updated configurable school management platform, positioning it as an alternative to paper-based admin and rigid school software.

The platform’s pitch is “configured your way.” That means schools can set up grading structures, report card formats, colours, and teacher remarks to match how they already operate. eSchool.ng also says schools migrating from another system can share an existing report sheet and have it rebuilt before switching.

The announcement also highlights computer-based testing, which lets schools create tests digitally and auto-grade objective questions. Essay questions still require teacher marking.

Another feature is QR code attendance, which records attendance via scanning and can notify parents when a child arrives at school. This is aimed at reducing manual errors and improving parent communication.

Finally, eSchool.ng is pushing AI-aided lesson notes, which generate first-draft lesson plans using AI (software that predicts text similar to autocomplete). Teachers can then review, edit, and submit notes for approval, which the company says can reduce admin time.

Why It Matters

School management software in Nigeria often fails when it cannot match a school’s grading and reporting style. Configurable workflows can lower resistance to adoption, especially for schools switching from paper or from older systems.

The parent notification angle is also practical. It ties school admin to trust and safety, which is a strong buying reason for private schools.

eSchool.ng claims more than 1,000 schools across Nigeria already use the platform and notes recognition from LSETF and the Prestige Awards Africa. If the configurability and migration support work as described, it could make software rollouts less painful for school operators and teachers.
