Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania launched the Biashara+ Current Account for MSMEs, with low balance requirements, digital onboarding, and daily free transfers.
Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania PLC has launched the Biashara+ Current Account, a business banking option aimed at Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania said Biashara+ is designed to make business banking more affordable and easier to use, with simplified transactions and access to digital financial tools.
The bank said the account targets small businesses such as retailers, traders, distributors, agro-dealers, sole proprietors and other small business owners.
Biashara+ has an opening balance of TZS 10,000 and a minimum operating balance of TZS 10,000.
According to the bank, the account includes free Internet Banking registration, free Lipa Eazy onboarding and two free TIPS transfers daily. Sole proprietors also get free Mobile Banking registration.
For fees, the bank said the account has a monthly ledger fee of TZS 2,000. Over-the-counter cash withdrawals cost TZS 2,500 per transaction. Any extra TIPS transfers beyond the two free daily transfers are charged based on the bank’s tariff guide.
Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania Head of Retail Banking, Abhinav Sharma, said: “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and their growth is essential to Tanzania's economic progress. Through Biashara+, we are making everyday banking simpler, more affordable and more accessible, enabling entrepreneurs to spend less time managing banking transactions and more time building sustainable businesses.”
To open the account, customers must provide a NIDA ID or other valid identification, a TIN certificate, a business license where applicable, proof of business location, a passport-size photograph and completed account-opening forms. The bank said companies and partnerships may need additional documentation.
The launch shows how Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania is competing for MSME customers with lower balance requirements and bundled digital services. For small businesses, the package combines predictable monthly fees with basic digital access and limited free daily transfers, which can reduce the cost of routine payments.
