DigiTax says it is expanding its UAE team as firms earning Dh50m or more must meet an October 30 e-invoicing requirement.
DigiTax is scaling up its UAE operations as the country moves toward mandatory electronic invoicing.
The UAE has a first compliance deadline on 30 October 2026 as it transitions to mandatory electronic invoicing.
The e-invoicing programme is led by the UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). It introduces a standardised system for structured e-invoices that can be exchanged securely.
Unlike traditional PDF invoices, e-invoices can be automatically processed and integrated with accounting systems. The source says this can reduce paperwork and manual intervention. It can also reduce time spent processing invoices, chasing financial discrepancies, and reconciling accounts, and it can improve real-time visibility over company finances.
DigiTax, licensed as Namiri Technology L.L.C., is listed as one of 65 Accredited Service Providers for e-invoicing by the UAE Ministry of Finance.
Caine Wanjau, CEO and co-founder of DigiTax, said, “Our experience supporting businesses across other markets has shown us that e-invoicing can bring significant economic benefits and operational efficiencies.” He added that e-invoicing can help businesses build “a stronger picture of their financial data” and support “data-led decisions.”
The Gulf News report also described Ask DigiTax, a conversational AI tool for querying invoice and transaction data.
The rollout will initially cover businesses generating over Dh50 million and will also apply to other business and government entities during 2027.
The e-invoicing effort also fits into the UAE’s Digital Economy Strategy, which aims to increase the digital economy’s contribution to GDP from 9.7 per cent in 2022 to 19.4 per cent within a decade.
For companies with limited digital infrastructure, the shift to e-invoicing is positioned as a chance to modernise financial management through tools that can integrate with existing accounting or enterprise resource planning systems (ERP, software that helps run a business across finance and operations).
