Bank ABC said it has been named “Best Bank for Cash Management in the Middle East in 2026” as part of four awards from Global Finance.

The other awards were Best Bank for Long-Term Liquidity Management in the Middle East in 2026, Best Corporate Cross-Border Payments Solutions in the Middle East in 2026, and Best Cash Management Bank in Bahrain in 2026.

The bank credited its digital transaction banking platform and its footprint across 15 countries. It said the platform supports corporate banking workflows like cash management, trade finance, and supply chain finance.

Cash management is how a business manages incoming and outgoing money, like collections, payments, and account reconciliation (matching transactions to invoices). Liquidity management is how a business keeps enough accessible cash to meet obligations, while earning a return on excess cash.

Why It Matters

For African founders and operators trading across borders, corporate cross-border payments and treasury tools matter more than consumer payment apps. They affect how quickly suppliers get paid, how accurately teams can forecast cash, and how well finance teams can track balances across multiple countries.

Bank ABC highlighted tools such as virtual accounts (one real account with many sub-account numbers for tracking), SWIFT GPI (a tracking layer for international bank transfers), host-to-host connectivity (direct system-to-bank integration), automated straight-through processing (payments that do not need manual handling), and advanced reporting.

Awards do not replace due diligence, but they signal which banks are investing in transaction banking infrastructure. For companies expanding into MENA routes, or raising capital that requires stronger treasury controls, these capabilities can reduce errors, delays, and operational cost.

Bank ABC also noted earlier recognition, including Best Trade Finance Bank in the Middle East in 2026 by Global Finance and Transaction Bank of the Year in the Middle East in 2025 by The Banker.
