VALR shared a 2026 crypto cycle outlook, highlighting retail ownership, CeDeFi, stablecoins, and AI agents, plus its Hyperliquid integration.
VALR published a new outlook on the crypto cycle. It points to four themes, retail ownership, CeDeFi, stablecoins, and agentic finance. The post also highlights VALR’s integration with Hyperliquid.
In an outlook published on 31 August 2026, VALR said the current crypto cycle is being shaped by four trends.
First is a “retail ownership” push, meaning more everyday users want direct ownership of assets, not just exposure through banks or brokers. The post points to growing interest in tokenised equities, which are shares represented as tokens on a blockchain, similar to a digital receipt that can move between wallets.
Second is CeDeFi, short for centralised and decentralised finance working together. In plain terms, it is when a centralised exchange connects directly to decentralised trading infrastructure, instead of keeping users inside a closed system.
VALR says it has plugged into Hyperliquid’s order book. An order book is the live list of buy and sell offers that sets the trading price. The company claims this gives its two million plus users access to more than 200 “liquid markets”, meaning markets with enough buyers and sellers for fast trades, across crypto and other asset classes like equities, stock indices, commodities, precious metals, and foreign exchange.
Third is the “two phase transformation of money”. The piece argues that stablecoins are already acting as practical rails for payments and value storage. Stablecoins are crypto tokens designed to track a currency like the US dollar.
Fourth is agentic finance, which describes AI agents that can execute trades or manage strategies automatically, like an autopilot for portfolio actions.
For African and emerging market users, exchange integrations with on-chain liquidity can expand product breadth without each platform rebuilding its own markets.
It also signals where crypto firms think demand is going next, beyond spot trading. Expect more focus on tokenised real world assets, stablecoin settlement, and automated execution, alongside tighter questions on regulation, risk controls, and custody.
