Individuals find the right products. Businesses reach the right audience. One platform, free for both.
BAI Directo has been updated with separate retail and corporate internet banking platforms, plus biometric confirmations in the app and improved bulk payments.
BAI Directo has rolled out an update that splits its internet banking into two experiences, one for personal accounts and one for business accounts.
BAIDirecto now routes users to separate retail and corporate platforms. The bank says the goal is to tailor features and navigation to each type of customer.
Customers who have both personal and business accounts can use the same enrolment number and password to access either platform. This reduces account switching friction for people who manage both types of finances.
On the personal side, the update adds a new apps dashboard and a refreshed user interface. BAI also introduced biometric confirmation in the mobile app, which means confirming certain operations using a fingerprint or face scan instead of typing a code.
On the business side, BAI highlighted a new apps dashboard for companies. It also improved “operator management”, which is how a company controls what staff users can do inside the banking portal, such as initiating payments or approving transactions. The bank also says it has upgraded mass payments, which are batch transfers used for payroll, supplier payouts, and other bulk disbursements.
The portal also includes a security warning: BAI says it does not call customers to request personal data or BAI Directo login credentials.
Angola’s banks are pushing more services into digital channels, and internet banking is often where higher value payments and approvals happen. Clear separation between retail and corporate tools can reduce mistakes, and make permission controls easier for finance teams.
Biometric confirmation can also tighten security if implemented well, because it ties approval to the account holder’s device. Still, the biggest risk for many users remains social engineering, meaning scammers tricking people into sharing passwords or one-time codes, so the bank’s reminder is timely.
