You may post one review per product, and the review must contain: - A rating from one to five stars. - Between 50 and 1,000 characters. - Genuine, recent, first-hand experience. Liners does not set a fixed age limit for the experience. You cannot review a product that you own or manage. The [guidelines for reviewers](/trust/reviewer-guidelines) cover conflicts, rewards, privacy, and banned content. ## Moderation New reviews enter Pending status. Liners may use automated tools to screen them for rule breaches or signs that a reviewer needs more checks. A review with a clean result may move to Approved. Other reviews stay Pending for a Liners reviewer. Automated checks do not reject a review on their own. Liners keeps its scores and signals private so people cannot write for the checks instead of readers. ## Review states and edits | Status | Meaning | | --- | --- | | Pending | Liners is still checking the review. | | Approved | The review is public and counts toward the product rating. | | Rejected | The review is not public and does not count toward the rating. | You may edit an Approved or Rejected review. Liners returns the edited review to Pending and checks it again. You cannot edit a review while it is Pending. ## Proof and verified reviews You may upload up to five proof images. Do not include private customer data, passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information. An Approved review may show a verified mark when the reviewer submitted proof that Liners could check to an extent. The mark does not prove every claim or guarantee the experience. Verified reviews do not carry more weight in the rating. ## Product ratings The product score is not a plain average. Each product starts from a neutral baseline of 3.5 stars, with the weight of 7 reviews. Each Approved review pulls the score away from the baseline and toward the real review average. When a product gets more Approved reviews, the real reviews count for more and the baseline counts for less. This is why a product with one 5-star review shows a score near 3.7, not 5.0. Only Approved reviews count toward the score. Pending and Rejected reviews do not count. The review count next to the score shows real Approved reviews only. The baseline is not a set of real reviews, and Liners does not show or count it anywhere. App Store and Play Store ratings appear separately, and Liners never mixes them into this score. A product with no Approved reviews shows no score. Payment, verified product status, and verified-review status do not change the rating calculation. People who follow a product may receive an update when a new review is approved. Read [how following and notifications work](/trust/following-and-notifications) for those choices. ## Reports and clarification Product managers may report an Approved review on a product they manage if they believe it breaks the rules. A critical opinion or low rating is not enough. Liners may ask the reviewer for more detail. The reviewer has 14 days to answer. Liners then reviews the report, review, response, and available information. Other users do not have the product-manager review-report control. They can report a wider platform issue through the available contact or product-report route. The summary does not change individual reviews or the product rating. AI can miss context. Readers should check the underlying reviews before relying on a summary.
