Read how Liners handles personal data and service information.

## Summary

This page explains the personal data Liners collects, why it is used, and the choices available to visitors.

## Policy

Last Updated: September 13, 2026

## 1. Introduction

Liners ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services (the "Platform").

By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Platform.

## 2. Information We Collect

### 2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

- **Name** and **email address** (provided directly or via Google sign-in).
- **Profile picture** (if you sign in with Google).
- **Approximate country** (ISO country code) inferred from your IP address when you complete sign-in (for example when you open your magic link or finish Google sign-in) and stored on your account profile for product and analytics purposes.

### 2.2 Product Submissions

When you submit a product for listing, we collect:

- Product name and website URL.
- Any optional notes you provide with your submission.
- Your name and email address as the submitter.

### 2.3 Reviews and Reports

When you post a review or submit a report, we collect:

- Review content, rating, and any proof images you upload.
- Report type, message, and your email address.

### 2.4 Platform Communications

When you create an account, we collect your email address. As a registered member, you may receive platform updates and product newsletters. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link provided in each email. See [how following and notifications work](/trust/following-and-notifications) for the public notification choices.

### 2.5 Sign-In Continuation Drafts

If you begin an action while signed out, such as writing a review, submitting a product or event, comparing products, following a product, suggesting an edit, or starting an advertisement checkout, we may temporarily store the draft details needed to continue that action after you open your magic link. These drafts are short-lived, used only to restore your sign-in flow, and are removed or expire automatically.

### 2.6 Third-Party Business Data

To provide useful product information, we collect and store business data about companies listed on the Platform from third-party business intelligence providers. This data is sourced using the company's publicly available website domain and may include:

- **Company profiles:** Headquarters location, phone number, website, social media links, estimated employee count, estimated revenue, and technologies used.
- **Funding information:** Funding rounds, amounts raised, dates, and investor names.
- **Key personnel:** Names, professional titles, LinkedIn profile URLs, and professional email addresses of senior employees (founders, executives, and vice-presidents).
- **News articles:** Publicly available news articles referencing the company.
- **Job postings:** Active job listings published by the company.

This data relates to companies and their employees, not to Platform users. It is collected under our legitimate interest in providing useful product information to our users. Professional email addresses obtained through enrichment are stored internally and are **not** used for marketing or displayed publicly on the Platform.

Individuals whose personal data appears on the Platform through business enrichment may request correction or removal at any time (see Section 8).

### 2.7 Payment Information

If you purchase advertising, a third-party payment processor handles the payment. We do not store your full card number on our servers. We receive transaction details such as the amount, status, and associated product or ad booking.

### 2.8 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect:

- **Session # IP address and browser user agent, stored temporarily as part of your authentication session.
- **Analytics # We use privacy-focused analytics tools for product analytics, session recordings, and error tracking. These tools may collect anonymised usage data and, for authenticated users, link events to your account to improve the user experience.
- **Attribution # When you first arrive, we record the landing page, the referring website, the derived search engine, any campaign parameters in the link, and an approximate country from your IP address. We attach this to key actions such as sign-up, leaving a review, submitting a product, or visiting a product website, so we can understand which pages and searches help people find useful products.

## 3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

- Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform.
- Process product submissions and manage listings.
- Facilitate account creation and authentication.
- Process payments for advertising.
- Send transactional emails (submission confirmations, publication notices, verification codes).
- Send platform updates and product newsletters to registered members.

It expires within minutes and is never used for anything other than analytics.

We do not use any third-party tracking cookies. Our analytics provider may use local storage and first-party cookies to maintain session continuity for analytics and session recordings.

## 7. Data Retention
