## Content

## In Short
- Zoyk has received authorisation from the Banque Centrale du Congo (BCC) to offer payment aggregation services in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
- The approval covers Zoykpay, the company’s payments platform for businesses and institutions.
- Zoyk still needs to complete implementation steps and additional regulatory requirements before a full commercial launch.

## What Happened
Zoyk says it has secured approval from the DRC central bank to take Zoykpay into the country. The authorisation gives Zoyk a formal regulatory route to prepare for operations, but it does not mean the service is live yet.

Zoykpay works as a payment aggregator, meaning it connects a business to multiple payment providers through one integration. In simple terms, it is like plugging into one “power strip” instead of wiring each device directly into the wall. For merchants, banks, and public sector organisations, that can reduce the work needed to accept and manage payments across different channels.

In the DRC, payments are split across banks, mobile money operators, and other financial providers. Zoyk is positioning its platform as infrastructure for collections, settlement, reconciliation (matching incoming payments to invoices), and multi-currency flows. The company also says it supports cross-border payments.

The DRC expansion builds on Zoyk’s regulatory progress in Zambia. In May 2024, the Bank of Zambia designated Zoyk Pay Zambia Limited as a payment aggregator.

On Liners, [Zoyk](/zoyk) is listed as a fintech product focused on payments infrastructure.

## Why It Matters
Payment aggregation is a practical layer for markets with fragmented rails, where merchants often juggle separate bank transfers, card payments, and multiple mobile money wallets. If Zoyk can execute in the DRC, it could become a key backend provider for businesses that need reliable collections and reporting across providers.

For founders and operators, the bigger signal is regulatory sequencing. Expansion in financial services often starts with licensing and approvals, then technical rollout, partnerships, and only then a public launch. This approval suggests Zoyk is moving early on compliance, which can be a competitive advantage in complex markets like the DRC.
