## What Happened
Valu Jordan has partnered with Harley-Davidson Amman to roll out Buy Now, Pay Later, often called BNPL, at the motorcycle retailer’s point-of-sale terminals. BNPL is a short-term credit option that lets a customer split a purchase into instalments instead of paying the full amount upfront.

The companies said customers will be able to complete purchases through a “fast digital experience” using the Valu app. Payment options and instalment plans will depend on the customer’s financial profile and approved credit limit.

Valu Jordan CEO Mohammad Al Yousef said the deal fits the company’s plan to expand into lifestyle and mobility categories in Jordan. Harley-Davidson Amman CEO Nidal Mahyar said the partnership is meant to improve the customer experience by adding more flexible payment plans.

The announcement comes as motorcycle use reportedly continues to grow in Jordan, both for daily transport and for leisure. Harley-Davidson Amman also joins Valu’s wider merchant partner network in the country.

## Why It Matters
BNPL at large-ticket retailers can increase conversion by lowering the upfront cost, especially for expensive items like motorcycles. For merchants, it can also help sell more accessories and gear by bundling add-ons into instalments.

For fintech operators, this is another example of consumer finance moving beyond online shopping into in-store payments, where checkout terminals and credit decisioning have to work in near real time.

In Jordan, the key question to watch is adoption, including how many Harley-Davidson purchases shift to instalments and how Valu manages credit risk as it expands into higher-value transactions.
