## In Short
- Valu Jordan officially launched the first phase of its business on September 6, 2026, after months of soft launch activity.
- The company says it has a final licence from the Central Bank of Jordan to operate under a specialized financing licence.
- Valu Jordan is rolling out flexible payment options, including Buy Now, Pay Later, and is building a merchant network across everyday spending categories.

## What Happened
Valu Jordan, the local arm of [Valu](/valu), has announced the official start of its first phase in Jordan. The company said it began operations and market setup in Q1 2026, then moved through a soft launch period.

At a press conference in Amman, executives highlighted regulatory progress and early market activity. Valu Jordan said it received its final approval from the Central Bank of Jordan under a specialized financing licence. In simple terms, that licence gives it permission to offer consumer financing products, including BNPL.

BNPL, short for Buy Now, Pay Later, lets a customer split a purchase into installments instead of paying the full amount upfront. Valu Jordan says it is focusing on a secure digital experience for customers, while expanding partnerships with merchants.

The firm said it has signed partner merchants across sectors linked to daily spending. These include retail, e-commerce, social commerce, education, electronics, and consumer goods. It plans to support both in-store payments through point-of-sale terminals and online checkout through digital channels.

Valu Jordan also said it has built local institutional and credit infrastructure, including integrations with licensed partners for credit information and payments. It said this will help with application assessment and risk management, meaning deciding who qualifies and how to reduce default risk.

## Why It Matters
Jordan is steadily expanding its digital payments and fintech base, supported by evolving regulation and growing consumer adoption. A licensed BNPL provider can add another financing option for shoppers and a conversion tool for merchants, especially in categories like electronics and education.

For Valu Group, this is another step in turning its Egypt playbook into a regional expansion model. For the Jordan market, it signals that regulated installment payments are moving beyond pilots into a more formal, scaled rollout, with local branches, a local team, and merchant coverage as the core execution test.
