## Content

## In Short
Telecom Egypt has approved its 2027 budget and published KPI guidance. The company expects low double-digit revenue growth and an EBITDA margin in the low to mid-forties.

## What Happened
Telecom Egypt’s Board of Directors approved the company’s 2027 budget with guidance across revenue, profitability, investment, and cash generation.

The company said revenue growth is expected in the low double digits. It also guided for an EBITDA margin in the low to mid-forties. EBITDA is earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, a common way companies describe operating profit before some accounting and financing costs.

On investment, Telecom Egypt projected an in-service capex-to-sales ratio in the mid-twenties. Capex is capital expenditure, money spent on long-term assets like networks. “In-service” capex refers to spending on assets that are ready to be used.

Telecom Egypt also guided for a positive FCFF-to-EBITDA ratio in the low to mid-forties. FCFF is free cash flow to the firm, which is cash left after operating costs and investment spending, and it is often used to judge how much cash a business can generate.

Tamer El Mahdi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the budget “builds on the momentum established in 2026” and aims to “unlocking the full revenue potential” of established businesses while “cultivating new sources of growth.” He pointed to retail network upgrades that could increase usage and move customers to higher-speed packages.

El Mahdi also said growing demand for cloud and AI services is increasing the need for international capacity and hosting infrastructure, supporting the company’s role as a hub for global traffic and the expansion of its data center business.

## Why It Matters
For Telecom Egypt, the guidance sets expectations for how it plans to balance growth with ongoing investment in fibre-to-the-home rollout and wider network strengthening. The company said it expects to fund these investments while converting more EBITDA into free cash flow, even as it factors in anticipated cost inflation and “macroeconomic and regional pressures.”
