## What Happened
Telecel Mobile Financial Services, the fintech arm of [Telecel](/telecel), has launched FUNDiT, a public crowdfunding platform in Ghana.

FUNDiT is designed to help people raise money online for projects and causes. Crowdfunding is when many people each contribute small amounts that add up to fund a goal, similar to a group collection but done digitally.

Telecel says the platform can be used by individuals, informal groups, registered organisations, and businesses. That scope matters in Ghana, where fundraising often happens through communities, churches, schools, and family networks, and where digital payments are now common.

For payments, FUNDiT supports contributions via multiple mobile money networks, bank cards, and other channels. Mobile money is a phone-based wallet that lets users send and receive money without a traditional bank account.
