## In Short
Taja says it has surpassed 50,000 users.

The company says it is processing millions of dollars in transaction volume each month.

Taja is live in seven African markets.

## What Happened: Taja Cross-Border Payments Growth
[Taja](/taja) is a pan-African fintech startup focused on cross-border payments, which means sending money between countries.

The startup says it has surpassed 50,000 users and is now processing millions of dollars in transaction volume each month, two years after launching its cross-border payments platform.

Launched in 2024, Taja says it has built a platform that lets individuals and businesses send, receive, convert and spend money globally. It offers multi-currency wallets and accounts, international collections, cross-border payouts, real-time currency conversion, virtual cards and digital-asset settlement capabilities.

Taja says it is live in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Benin and Ivory Coast. It also says it connects users to major global currencies and payment networks in the United Kingdom and United States.

“We built Taja because moving money across borders shouldn’t feel like navigating a labyrinth,” said David Orovwiroro, the startup’s CEO.

He said surpassing 50,000 users and processing millions of dollars in monthly transaction volume shows “the growing demand for accessible, borderless financial infrastructure.” He added that the company is focused on ensuring African creators, freelancers and business owners have financial tools to “participate and compete in the global economy.”

## Why It Matters
Cross-border payments are a common problem for African businesses and workers who earn from customers abroad, including creators and freelancers.

Taja’s update gives a snapshot of demand for tools like multi-currency wallets, real-time currency conversion and cross-border payouts.

The startup says it plans to keep expanding across Africa and into international markets, with a focus on strengthening its payment infrastructure.
