## Content

## In Short
- Startup Map Hub is a Kenya-built tool that helps startups search for funding faster.
- It aggregates funding opportunities, checks eligibility rules, and helps founders prepare applications.
- The platform says it has 2,415 registered founders and 35 paying users, with over $2,000 in revenue since February 2026.

## What Happened
Startup Map Hub is trying to reduce the time founders spend hunting for capital. Startup Map Hub brings grant calls, accelerators, and other funding opportunities into one place, then guides founders through eligibility checks and application prep.

The product was launched in October 2025 by Duncan Muriithi, a Nairobi-based software engineer and repeat founder. He says the platform has attracted 2,415 registered founders so far. At least 35 of them are paying customers. Muriithi also says Startup Map Hub has generated more than $2,000 in revenue since it started accepting payments in February 2026.

Muriithi’s pitch is that fundraising work is often fragmented. Deadlines can be spread across many websites. Eligibility rules are often buried in long documents. Founders then repeat the same information across multiple application forms.

Startup Map Hub aims to streamline that workflow. In practice, it acts like a funding directory plus an application checklist, helping founders quickly filter opportunities they can actually apply for.

## Why It Matters
For early-stage startups, fundraising is often a second job. Tools that centralise funding data and reduce repeated admin work can free up time for product, sales, and hiring.

It also reflects a broader shift in African startup ecosystems. As venture funding becomes harder to access in some markets, more founders are looking at grants, accelerators, and smaller ticket programs. That makes “find and qualify” steps more important, not less.

If Startup Map Hub can grow its paid base, it could become part of the startup financing stack in Kenya and beyond, sitting alongside founder communities, investor databases, and pitch support services.
