## Content

## In Short
Raenest has launched a physical Visa Platinum debit card for users who want to spend across currencies and stablecoins.

## What Happened
[Raenest](/raenest) said it is rolling out a new physical Visa Platinum debit card for in-person and online purchases, plus ATM withdrawals.

The card lets users spend directly from eligible balances held on the Raenest platform, including USD, NGN, GBP, and EUR. It also supports spending from USDC and USDT, which are stablecoins (crypto tokens designed to track the US dollar).

Raenest says the physical card is available in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, South Africa, Rwanda, and the Philippines.

The company positions the product as a way to carry multi-currency balances “in your pocket”, reducing the need to move money out to other banks or card programs before paying.

## Why It Matters
For many African freelancers, remote workers, and cross-border businesses, the hardest part is often spending money held in USD or stablecoins. A physical Visa card that draws from multiple balances can make day-to-day payments easier, especially for offline use cases like POS terminals and cash withdrawals.

It also shows how fintechs are packaging stablecoin balances into familiar payment rails. Visa cards are widely accepted, so users can pay at merchants that do not support crypto, while still using USDC or USDT in the background.

The expansion list is notable. By covering markets across Africa and adding the Philippines, Raenest is leaning into a broader “global account” narrative, not just Nigeria-focused FX and cards.

For regulators and compliance teams, products like this also raise practical questions about disclosures and how stablecoin funding sources are handled, since stablecoins behave like crypto even when the user experience looks like a normal debit card.
