## Content

## In Short
Pivot Integrated Energy Services completed a N100bn Series 1 commercial paper issuance and raised N100.08bn after investor demand pushed the offer slightly above target.

## What Happened
Pivot Integrated Energy Services’ debut commercial paper issuance was oversubscribed, closing at N100.08bn on a N100bn target.

A commercial paper is a short-term debt note, similar to an IOU that companies sell to investors to raise working capital. This Series 1 issuance sits under a wider N300bn Commercial Paper Programme.

The company said proceeds will support its downstream energy operations, including trading, storage, distribution, and supply of refined petroleum products in Nigeria and selected African markets.

Pathway Advisors acted as transaction sponsor, financial adviser, lead issuing house, and lead arranger. The firm said the result reflected investor confidence in Pivot’s business model, management team, and financial position.

The BusinessDay report also said [Globus Bank](/globus-bank) participated in the issuance. The report did not disclose the bank’s allocation or investment amount.

## Why It Matters
For Pivot, the oversubscription is a signal that institutional and high-net-worth investors are willing to back energy-sector operators through Nigeria’s debt capital market.

For the wider market, it shows that corporate short-term debt remains a live funding option as many companies look for alternatives to equity fundraising.

It also matters for downstream fuel supply. Nigeria’s refined products value chain depends heavily on reliable working capital for inventory, storage, and logistics. Access to commercial paper can help operators smooth cash flow and scale distribution across multiple regions.
