## In Short
- PiggyVest has been named to CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 list.
- It is PiggyVest’s third consecutive year on the ranking, following 2024 and 2025.
- The company was again listed in the Wealth Technology category.

## What Happened: CNBC World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026
Nigerian savings and investment app [PiggyVest](/piggyvest) has been included in CNBC’s “World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026” list for the third year in a row.

The 2026 list is the fourth edition of the ranking, which CNBC publishes in partnership with Statista. PiggyVest was again placed in the Wealth Technology, or WealthTech, category.

WealthTech is a segment of fintech focused on digital wealth management. In plain terms, it covers apps that help people save, invest, and manage portfolios online, similar to how budgeting apps help track spending. Reports covering the list say PiggyVest is the only African company in that WealthTech segment.

This continues a streak that started in 2024, when PiggyVest first appeared on the CNBC and Statista list under “Financial Planning.” In 2025, it returned on an expanded Top 300 list and moved into WealthTech, while other Nigerian fintechs on that year’s ranking were mostly grouped under Payments.

## Why It Matters: African WealthTech Visibility
Global fintech rankings tend to be dominated by the US, Canada, and parts of Asia, especially in WealthTech. Being repeatedly listed signals that PiggyVest is staying visible in a category associated with online trading, investment tools, and long-term wealth products.

For the African tech ecosystem, the detail that matters is category placement. Payments companies from Africa show up more often in global lists, but wealth management and investment platforms are still underrepresented.

For founders and operators, PiggyVest’s three-year run also shows how consumer finance brands can build credibility over time, even in a market with currency pressure, tighter regulation, and intense competition for user trust.
