## In Short
- OUTsurance Group has appointed four independent non-executive directors.
- The appointments apply to OUTsurance Group Limited and OUTsurance Holdings Limited.
- The changes took effect immediately.

## What Happened
OUTsurance Group appointed four independent non-executive directors on 17 August 2026. The new directors are Kamo Kroll, Nazia Kahlon, Renasha Werbeloff (Govender) and Magnus Taljaard.

The appointments are to the boards of OUTsurance Group Limited and its 92.8%-owned subsidiary, OUTsurance Holdings Limited. According to the company, the changes took effect immediately.

An independent non-executive director is a board member who is not part of day-to-day management and has no close ties that could affect judgment. In simple terms, they are meant to bring outside oversight and challenge decisions, rather than run operations.

## Why It Matters
For a listed insurance group, board independence is closely watched by investors and regulators. It can affect governance quality, risk oversight and how the company responds to issues like pricing pressure, claims volatility and compliance.

OUTsurance said the appointments support a majority-independent board composition. That structure is often used to reduce conflicts of interest and strengthen checks and balances at board level.

For customers and partners, governance changes do not usually alter products overnight. Still, stronger oversight can shape longer-term decisions, including capital allocation, audit focus and how the group manages operational risk.

In the South African insurance market, board moves like this can also signal preparation for future strategic work, such as business expansion, tighter regulation, or changes in group structure.

In the Liners directory, OUTsurance is listed as [OUTsurance](/outsurance).
