## In Short
Ooredoo Tunisia inaugurated its Water for All project in Kairouan on September 8, 2026. The project upgrades local water infrastructure and aims to improve sustainable water access for 250 families.

## What Happened
Ooredoo Tunisia, part of [Ooredoo](/ooredoo), marked the launch of “Water for All” in Kairouan as part of its “Tounes T3ich” corporate social responsibility program.

The company said it built the project in response to needs identified within the local community. The work focused on rehabilitating and improving hydraulic infrastructure at the Hendi El Zitouna station, specifically pumping station number 2.

In simple terms, this is a repairs and upgrade effort to water pumping and distribution equipment so water can reach homes more reliably. The stated goal is “improved and durable” access, which usually means fewer breakdowns and more consistent supply.

The inauguration ceremony included representatives from Ooredoo Tunisia, its partner Association Carthage Horizon, and local stakeholders and residents.

Ooredoo Tunisia CEO Eyas Assaf said the company is prioritising projects tied to basic needs, and that the water project is intended to produce lasting social impact.

## Why It Matters
Reliable access to water is core infrastructure. It affects health outcomes, school attendance, and time spent on household tasks, especially in areas facing supply constraints.

For telecom operators, CSR projects like this can also support long-term network growth. Communities with better basic services tend to see stronger economic activity, which can increase demand for mobile and internet services over time.

The partnership model is also notable. Working with a local association can improve project delivery, community trust, and maintenance after launch, which is often the hard part for infrastructure projects.

If Ooredoo Tunisia expands similar rehabilitation projects beyond Kairouan, it could become a repeatable playbook for private sector support of municipal services in Tunisia.
