## Content

## In Short
OhentPay is live in Vietnam. Users can open a local Vietnamese account and send or receive funds across 190+ countries.

## What Happened
Cross-border payments app [OhentPay](/ohentpay) says it has launched in Vietnam. The product update highlights a new option for users to open a local Vietnamese account.

A local account usually means you get local bank details, so other people and businesses can send you money like a domestic transfer, instead of an international wire. OhentPay says the Vietnam launch supports sending and receiving money to 190+ countries.

The company also markets multi-currency accounts, including GBP, USD, EUR, CHF, and NGN. It says users can hold balances and exchange between currencies, then send payments at flat fees and “competitive rates”.

For businesses, OhentPay lists monthly subscription plans, including a free tier and paid tiers at $5 and $10. These plans include different limits for multi-currency balances, and bundles of local and cross-border payments.

No funding announcement was included in the update.

## Why It Matters
Vietnam is a major hub for trade and international work, which tends to create steady demand for cross-border payments. For African founders, freelancers, and SMEs (small and medium-sized businesses), access to local account details in new markets can reduce friction when getting paid by overseas customers.

The feature can also matter for diaspora and remittance use cases, where the sender wants a simpler “local transfer” experience. It is also a signal that fintechs serving African users are continuing to build outward, adding more local rails, which are the underlying bank and payment connections that make transfers work.

The next questions are practical ones. These include onboarding requirements, supported payout methods, and how fast transfers settle in and out of Vietnam.
