## Content

## In Short
The Nigeria AI Scaling Hub, also called NAISH, showcased five organisations building artificial intelligence tools at Moonshot by TechCabal 2026.

## What Happened
The Nigeria AI Scaling Hub, also called NAISH, presented work from five organisations developing artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare, agriculture, and local languages.

Artificial intelligence refers to software that can learn patterns from data and make predictions or generate outputs without being explicitly programmed for every step.

The five organisations named were digital health provider [mDoc](/mdoc), agritech platform Extension Africa, research enterprise Data Science Nigeria, language engine Awarri, and the Masakhane African Languages Hub.

NAISH is backed by the Gates Foundation. The Gates Foundation committed up to $7.5 million over three years, according to the report. The goal is to bridge what the report called the chasm between experimental prototypes and real world national deployment.

The report also said the showcase highlighted how shared digital infrastructure and institutional partnerships can help move local research into widespread commercial adoption.

## Why It Matters
Many AI projects stall after early demos. NAISH is positioned as a way to move from prototypes to deployment by pooling infrastructure and partnerships, and by focusing on specific use cases in healthcare, agriculture, and African languages.

For founders and operators, the organisations showcased signal where applied machine learning is being tested in Nigeria, and which areas are being prioritised for broader rollout support under NAISH’s backing.
