## Content

## In Short
- MyTherapist.ng has added video group therapy circles inside its app.
- Circles meet weekly or every two weeks, with up to 12 people per group.
- Sessions start from ₦2,000 per seat, with pricing set by the therapist.

## What Happened
[MyTherapist.ng](/mytherapist-ng) says users can now join small, therapist-led group therapy sessions from their phones. The company calls each group a “circle”. It is a scheduled video session where members meet at the same time each week or every two weeks.

Each circle has up to twelve participants and is led by a licensed therapist. Users can browse available circles in the app by opening the Therapy tab and selecting “Group therapy”. They then pick a circle, answer two short joining questions, choose a display name, accept the circle agreement, and pay to join.

Pricing is set per session, usually from ₦2,000 to ₦5,000, but users pay in blocks rather than one session at a time. Weekly circles are sold as 4-session blocks, and biweekly circles are sold as 2-session blocks. The company says MyTherapist.ng Prime members get 20% off each block.

MyTherapist.ng also outlined privacy rules for circles. Members can use an alias, surnames are hidden, and sessions are not recorded. Members agree not to record or take screenshots, and to keep what is shared confidential.

## Why It Matters
Group therapy is a lower-cost way to access professional mental health support because participants share the therapist’s time. For Nigeria’s growing telehealth market, adding group sessions can help platforms serve more people without relying only on one-to-one appointments.

It also signals a product shift toward ongoing support and community-led care, not just single sessions. That can improve retention for therapy apps, especially when users want a routine and peer support around topics like work stress, anxiety, and life changes.

The company says circles are not designed for crisis situations, and users who indicate they may be in crisis are directed to one-to-one support first.
