## Content

## In Short
Minicor has raised $3.8 million in seed funding. The company builds AI automation tools to help businesses connect older desktop software to modern AI applications.

## What Happened: How Minicor Connects Legacy Apps To AI
Minicor, a Nigerian-founded artificial intelligence startup, says it raised $3.8 million in seed funding to help businesses integrate AI technology with older desktop applications that lack modern connectivity features.

The round was led by IA Ventures. Other investors included Y Combinator, Paul Graham, Pioneer Fund, Robinhood Ventures, Garage Capital, Rebel Fund, plus other institutional and individual investors.

Minicor was founded by Nigerian-born software engineer Saheed Akinbile and Faizaan Chishtie. The startup is part of Y Combinator’s P26 batch.

Minicor is targeting a common issue with legacy desktop software, it often has no APIs, which are the connectors that let different software systems communicate. Without APIs, organisations can end up using manual work or paying for custom automation tools to move data between applications.

Minicor says it uses AI agents, which are software bots that can learn how a specific desktop app works, then carry out tasks through automated workflows. The company says this can turn older software into systems that can receive instructions from modern AI applications.

Its platform can run workflows through Windows virtual machines. It also supports deployment across on premises infrastructure, cloud environments, and Citrix systems.

The company also lists features including automatic recovery from workflow failures, video replay, and scalable automation infrastructure.

## Why It Matters: Getting AI Into Enterprises Without Replacing Systems
Tech In Africa says the funding comes as enterprises look for ways to add artificial intelligence into existing operations without replacing their current software infrastructure.

Minicor says its approach differs from conventional robotic process automation, which can require substantial manual configuration and ongoing maintenance. The company says the new funding will help it advance its technology and strengthen its position in the enterprise automation market.
